As winter approaches, Radio Kupwara 89.6 FM has launched a special broadcast series to help residents of remote villages prepare for the harsh winter months in the Kupwara district.
The series covers essential topics including stocking food and fuel supplies, winter health precautions, road safety during snowfall, and emergency contact information. The health department, disaster management authority, and local administration have partnered with the station to provide accurate and timely information.
"In many remote areas, radio is still the most reliable source of information, especially during winters when other communication channels may be disrupted," explained the station's community outreach coordinator.
The special broadcasts will air daily at 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM throughout November and December. Pamphlets with key information will also be distributed in villages through local volunteers.
