DLSA Kupwara holds 4th National Lok Adalat
KUPWARA, DECEMBER 14: In accordance with the Action Plan/ activities calendar 2024, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kupwara under the aegis of NALSA & JK Legal Services Authority, organized 4th National Lok Adalat, across District Kupwara today. The said Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Ms. Shazia Tabasum, Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, (Pr. District & Session Judge) Kupwara, and guidance of Mr. Moneer Ahmad Secretary, DLSA Kupwara.
Four (06) Benches were constituted for the said Lok Adalat comprising of Presiding Officers and Members for the amicable settlement/ compromise of the cases. Cases of different categories were taken up in the said National Lok Adalat, i.e., Criminal Compoundable offences, Bank Recovery Cases, Money Suit, Labour dispute cases, NI Act U/s 138, MACT and other Civil Cases at Pre & Post Litigation stages etc.
Bench First was constituted at Court Complex, Kupwara comprising of Ms. Shazia Tabasum, Chairperson DLSA, Distt. & Session Judge Kupwara and Ms. Iram Irtiza, Munsiff/ JMIC Kupwara. Second Bench was constituted at Court Complex, Kupwara comprising of Mr. Khemraj Sharma, Additional District & Sessions Judge, P.O Fast Track Kupwara and Mr. Moneer Ahmad, Secretary DLSA, Sub-Judge Kupwara.
Bench Third was constituted at Court Complex Handwara, comprising of Ms. Umi Qulsum, Addl. District & Sessions Judge Handwara and Mr. Altaf Ahmad Mir Munsiff/JMIC Handwara. Fourth Bench was constituted at Special Mobile Magistrate Court Trehgam Comprising of Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Ganie and Mr. Reyaz Ahmad Wani (Bar President). Fifth at Munsiff Court Sogam comprising of Mr. Shabir Ahmad Malik Munsiff/ JMIC Sogam, and Mr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat (Bar President Sogam) and Sixth Bench at Munsiff Court Tangdhar comprising of Mr. Mansoor Ahmad Mir Munsiff/JMIC (Chairman TLSC) Tangdhar and Mr. Mehboob Alahi (Bar President) acted as Member.
A total number of 561 cases was taken up by all the benches, of which 272 number of cases were disposed as settled on spot by intervention of the benches and by participation of the lawyers and litigants.
A total sum of Rs. 52,84,100 was awarded to the aggrieved parties by settlement during the said National Lok Adalat.
Lawyers and litigants participating in the Special Lok Adalat expressed their joy in early disposal of the cases through mutual settlement and appreciated the arrangements of the National Lok Adalat.
