DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for conduct of Lolab Festival
KUPWARA, DECEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for conduct of the Lolab Festival.
The meeting held threadbare discussion regarding various arrangements by different departments for smooth conduct of the Lolab festival during the snowfall season.
It was informed in the meeting that the aim of conducting Lolab festival is to exploit the tourism potential of the unexplored Lolab valley which is bestowed with scenic beauty.
On the occasion, the concerned departments were directed to make fool proof arrangements. Police department shall make adequate security measures around the venue of the festival, besides, Traffic police shall ensure proper parking of the vehicles coming to the festival venue. BDO Sogam shall ensure installation of mobile toilets for the convenience of the visitors.
Arrangements for ATV, Zipline, Ice Skating and Sledging were also reviewed and concerned officers were directed to ensure the same in coordination with different stakeholders so that the Lolab festival attracts huge number of tourists to explore its scenic beauty.
ACD Kupwara shall make arrangement of main Stage for housing musical concerts and providing sitting arrangements to the visitors interested in live music.
AC Panchayats will ensure availability of heating, sound, LCDs and other electronic appliances to make the venue more festive looking. Tourism department shall install hoardings and signages around the venue to provide highlights of the festival and tourism schemes of the Government.
Besides, Chief Education Officer Kupwara was directed to ensure participation of students who will present cultural items. Police band will also be arranged by the Police department.
The PDD and PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply respectively. Forest department was directed to make appropriate arrangements of trekking, bird watching and bonfire for the visitors loving adventure and nature. Army will install tents for sitting arrangement of visitors.
It was given out in the meeting that the line departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicrafts, Floriculture department will install their stalls showcasing local products. Various other departments were also given tasks according to their domain.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers to ensure fool proof arrangements for grand success of the Lolab festival. She directed them to ensure close coordination with SDM Lolab for making arrangements.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, Mohd Rouf Rehman; CEO LBDDA, SDM Lolab, ASP Kupwara, ACD, ACP, CPO, DFO Kamraj, XEN R&B Lolab, besides, officers from Police and Army were present in the meeting.
